The GEC or Ecoles Centrale Group

Founded in 1990, the Ecoles Centrale Group consists of 5 top engineering schools in France : CentraleSupélec (Paris), Centrale Lyon, Centrale Nantes, Centrale Lille, and Centrale Marseille, but also 3 schools abroad : Centrale Pekin (China), Mahindra Ecole Centrale (India) and Centrale Casablanca (Morocco). These 8 schools share the same values. Based on nearly two centuries of recognized Centrale education know-how in France, the goal of Ecoles Centrale Group is to promote and implement excellent engineering education with the following characteristics: multidisciplinary curriculum for engineers, with a broad scope of scientific, engineering and management fields taught to all students; close contact with the industry through joint projects and training periods; and academic education and applied research closely related to industry stakeholders.

The CSC

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is the non-profit organization of the Chinese Ministry of Education that provides support for international academic exchange with China. The CSC provides both funding for Chinese citizens and residents to study abroad, and for foreign students and scholars to study in China. The agency predominantly provides scholarships to individuals, including some within the scope of programs such as this one.

The CSC-GEC program

The CSC-GEC program offers each year 40 PhD positions and 10 post-doctoral positions on innovative subjects divided between the GEC 5 schools in France. Its added value is the strong links of the schools with companies working in a variety of domains. Our partnership enables us to provide our students with privileged study and research conditions. Between 2014 and 2018, 163 students have benefited from this program.
